Your chance to win a green home makeover returns again! It’s the 3rd Annual Green Home Giveaway presented by Alabama Power and we are looking for a special home to transform, with the latest in green products and technology.
Thanks to our participating partners, one local family will be on their way to living in a home that is not only more energy efficient and sustainable, but also eco-friendly and healthy.
Here’s what’s up for grabs:
- A complete home energy audit provided by Eco Three
- Sustainable landscaping provided by Portera Landscape Design
- A dual flush toilet, low flow faucet, lavatory bowl and more provided by ToTo
- Energy efficient lighting provided by Mayer Lighting Showroom
- A heat pump water heater provided by Alabama Power
- A variety of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment, including a new Heat Pump System by Mingledorff’s and Guin
- Windows and/or doors provided by Energy Guard
- Low VOC paint for two interior rooms
- Rain water barrel provided by Nature’s Tap
- Contracting services provided by Structure Homes
- Programmable lighting control
- Insulation
- Energy Star appliances
- A feature in Birmingham Home and Garden Magazine and on the Parade of Homes website and more
Here’s how it works:
1. Answer a few questions. We need a little background info on your home.
2. Tell us why you would like to win a green home makeover. This is your chance to be creative (and convincing). Share why living in a green home is important to you, tell us what you do to live green, how you want to make your home better and eco-friendly, tell us about yourself, your family – you get the picture…
3. Upload some pictures of your home. Both interior and exterior pictures are great. It’s your chance to show off your pad.
A few more details:
Birmingham and surrounding area homeowners will be able to enter the Green Home Giveaway November 5th through November 30th on our website. When the entry period is over, a panel of our sponsors will select three finalist homes. Those homes will be presented on our website, and the public will be able to cast their vote for the home they want to see win. The home with the most votes wins the green home makeover!
