The Westin Birmingham will be constructed LEED certified from the ground up, and will support the “30/20/20 initiative” to reduce energy consumption by 30% and water consumption by 20% by the year 2020. Grand opening date for The Westin Birmingham is scheduled for February 14, 2013.

205.324.5000The Sheraton Birmingham continues to lead the hospitality community in Alabama in sustainability efforts by offering low flow shower heads, in-room recycling, and green meetings options, just to name a few of its green initiatives. The hotel has eliminated threatened seafood from menus, while utilizing waste food logs to minimize waste. A signature sustainability program of the Sheraton is “Make A Green Choice”; hotel guests receive an incentive to opt out of housekeeping services, enabling the hotel to reduce its carbon footprint. The Sheraton also supports the “30/20/20 initiative” to reduce energy consumption by 30% and water consumption by 20% by the year 2020.
