Our latest giveaway is five lbs. of locally roasted coffee beans from FinerGrind Coffee Roasters! This giveaway consists of a high quality, Brazilian Micro-lot. The coffee is roasted to a medium roast, which helps bring out notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, a rich nuttiness similar to walnuts, and a subtle fruit note that can be described as stone-fruit (peach/cherry) and a long, lingering finish.
FinerGrind Coffee Roasters is a micro-roastery located here in Birmingham. Their coffee is roasted daily, on two roasters, a 15-kilo and a 5-kilo gas fired roaster. FinerGrind takes pride in their ability to source beautiful, heirloom coffees from all around the world, many of which include, award winning coffees from the “Cup of Excellent” and “Best Of” competitions.
FinerGrind coffees are selected from farmers who take great care to produce incredible coffees. This particular Brazilian Micro-lot, is farmed by the Gertrudes family on the Brazilian estate, Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza. The Gertrudes selectively hand harvest this coffee to ensure that only the ripe cherry is picked. The coffee is dried on African style raised beds which allow airflow around the bean, ensuring that the beans evenly dried. The Gertrudes farm practices environmentally friendly methods throughout its operation and does not use toxic chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
